About Us
The Good Mart was founded by three friends, Andrew, Collin, and Sooj, who grew up loving Pokémon and collecting cards. What started as a weekend hobby turned into a mission to create a space filled with nostalgia, joy, and community.
Over the years, we’ve gone from trading cards as kids to curating unique finds and vending at local markets. Our focus has always been on quality, creativity, and connecting with others who share the same passion.
You’ll also find touches of our love for Japanese culture throughout our branding, packaging, and events.
At The Good Mart, we’re more than just a shop, we’re a community for collectors, fans, and anyone chasing that good vibe.
Meet The Team
Andrew
Growing up, my days were filled with Monsters Inc., Transformers, and of course — Pokémon. One of my first core memories was my dad buying me a Crystal Guardians booster pack. I didn’t know much about the game, but the artwork and colours instantly pulled me in.
My love for the hobby truly awakened during the Diamond & Pearl era — the DS games and Lv. X cards became my world. Like many, I drifted away from the hobby for a while until 2019, when Cosmic Eclipse dropped. Seeing Dialga and Palkia again hit me with a wave of nostalgia — and I haven’t looked back since.
Now, with The Good Mart, my hope is to bring that nostalgia, sharing this lifelong passion with collectors, kids, and fans of every generation.
Collin
In a way, Pokémon has always been a part of my life. I still remember laying my cards out on my bedroom floor, trading with my friends during recess, and feeling like I won the lottery when I pulled a shiny card! One of my most vivid memories? Losing my base set Charizard behind the washer and dryer... a childhood tragedy I’ve never fully recovered from.
As I got older, my love for collecting never really went away, it just evolved! These days, I’m a big fan of Greninja, Scizor, and pretty much every legendary Pokémon from the early generations (anything before Sun & Moon still hits different).
Starting The Good Mart with my friends was a way to bring that love full circle, to build a space where collectors, fans, and newcomers can all connect, trade, and relive the magic we grew up with.
Sooj
When I was a kid, my older brother was into all sorts of cool stuff, and I was always tagging along. It all started with Marvel comics and cards, then Dragonball manga, and finally, Pokémon cards. I remember being totally obsessed with the shiny cards, just because they looked so cool! I had no idea what they were or anything.
But lately, I’ve rediscovered my love for Pokémon. Among all the sets I’ve tried out, the 151 set has become my absolute favourite. It’s got this nostalgic charm that’s hard to beat, and the full art cards are just stunning. Each card feels like a piece of Pokémon history, bringing back memories while also giving me a whole new sense of excitement with every pack I open.
And guess what? The Good Mart has been my lucky charm! Not only have I found my love for Pokémon again, but I’ve also met some amazing people in this whole new world. It’s been one of the best experiences of my life, and I can’t wait to share it with my kid when she’s older.
